News Matchbox Twenty is nominated for MUST HAVE ALBUM in the 2001 VH1 My Music Awards. Don't forget to vote by December 2. "Last Beautiful Girl" is announced as the band's next single. 2001 Tour starts July 31st. Check my "Show Reviews" section for tour dates. On June 1st, 2001, Matchbox Twenty on "Storytellers" aired only on VH1. The performance was taped this past February at Chelsea Piers in N.Y.C.

Matchbox Twenty appeared on "The Today Show" February 14, 2001. Matchbox Twenty performed at HMV Records in N.Y.C. (42nd St. between 7th and 8th) on February 12, 2001. The band played five songs. Matchbox Twenty taped their first "Storyteller's" performance on February 9, 2001 in NY. Matchbox Twenty appeared on the "David Letterman Show" February 6th and the "Rosie O' Donnell Show" February 8th (aired 2/19). Matchbox Twenty was nominated for two Grammy Awards: "Best Rock Song" and "Best Rock Album." Unfortunately they lost both. Matt Serletic, their producer, was nominated for "Producer of the Year." Rob Thomas was named "Hot 100 Songwriter of the Year" and Matt Serletic "Hot 100 Producer of the Year" by Billboard Magazine. |
